Are you being abandoned by your advisor?

Back in February 2024, La Presse, a French-language newspaper, had published an article, “Son conseiller financier l’abandonne par courriel.”

Personal finance journalist, Marie-Eve Fournier, describes how an advisor at large, national financial institution had transferred his 80 year-old client to service-less call centre.

This is because the client no longer was considered as ‘profitable’ by his former advisor.

This type of problem could have been solved if major financial institutions and advisors could choose a business model where compensation for service and advice is decoupled from assets under management.
